The Best 2023 Fashion Trends: New Season Styles by April Stephens

The following round of spring/summer fashion trends 2023 will be revealed in Milan once New York and London Fashion Weeks are finished. While designers maintained their individual sense of style, there were certain shared core themes that we anticipate will filter down via other fashion weeks and straight-to-market collections, ultimately showing up in your closet. These trends are ones to watch out for in the next season.

Purple Hues

One of the top fashion color trends of 2022 is expected to continue into 2023. Everything from everyday clothes to special event attire has been decorated with lilac, and it appears that purple tones throughout the spectrum are here to stay.

Despite the fact that the pastel version of the color was by far the most popular at New York Fashion Week, richer and deeper shades made a comeback and looked particularly stylish when coupled with lighter, lavender-colored items for a tonal ensemble.

The lightest variations, so gentle they might be mistaken for milk, were from Tory Burch and Adam Lippes, giving the now-standard palette a fresh spin for spring 2023. Although there were plenty of casual separates, lilac was also given an occasion wear makeover with some of the greatest cocktail dresses from designers like Pamella Roland and Dennis Basso. As we go into the new year, bridesmaids and wedding guests should definitely take this color into consideration.

Laser cutting and lace

Since the lighter fabric and cut-out detailing are perfect for the gorgeously warm weather, lace detailing is a great choice for a spring/summer dress. The mix of luxurious lace and delicate laser cutting pays attention to workmanship. In recent years, we have witnessed an increasing trend for artisan details combined with contemporary technology.

Although lace fabric served as the inspiration for this 2023 fashion trend, brand interpretations varied. Due to the embellishments, this design may be seen in a variety of hues, from traditional white to vivid and punchy pinks and blues, and thus lends itself better to evening and occasionwear. An excellent investment for attire for a wedding or engagement party the following year.

Frothy and feathery

With feathers and silky, airy tulle covering a variety of designs throughout New York’s eight-day fashion extravaganza, the fashion trends 2023 clearly showed that romance was in the cards. From bold hemlines to full tulle dresses that carried this season’s volume trend. With nearly meringue-like peaks of delicate fabric, this trend is the perfect addition to occasionwear and will let you pirouette into a summer evening.

While a feathery jacket in the manner of the 1920s was emphasized as something to put over a dress next summer, feather detailing was also utilized to lend extra opulence to maxi dresses and hems that skim the thighs. The use of a variety of pastel shades and striking jewel tones contributed to one of the most enjoyable and luxurious fashion trends that 2023 is predicted to bring.

Sports luxe

No pain, no gain doesn’t apply in this case since Sports Luxe is the vogue trend for 2023 that ensures you can look beautiful and feel comfy in one chic move. But make no mistake, even while this outfit is “relaxed” in the fashion sense, it is still far more put together than donning your favorite sweatshirt and your favorite pair of old leggings. Although the designs are athletic, the textiles provide a touch of luxury.

Different brands offer silky sweatshirts that may be worn with matching skirts without effort. Fendi evoked ’90s grunge with its high-low combination of embroidered slip skirts, paired with athletic jackets, and what is expected to be some of the season’s greatest sweatshirts. Although more sensible sportswear did make short runway cameos, it was the daring and avant-garde designs elsewhere that truly got our blood pumping. Add heels to silky tracksuit pants or cargo pants for a more upscale touch to up-style traditional sportswear pieces and give them a fashion-forward update.

Sneakers

Nike had created the groundwork for the contemporary partnership structure by designing a sneaker that was functional over a wide range of colorways. Early adopter Spike Lee helped the company develop unique yellow and black models for Wu-Tang Clan. It was transformed into a skate shoe in the New York scene by the early 1990s, where its heavy-duty construction and flat, thin sole made it the ideal crossover trainer. According to Jesse Einhorn, Senior Economist at the website StockX, “the worldwide sneaker resale industry is witnessing significant growth, with an expected market value of over $30 billion by 2030.”

One of our market’s fastest-growing sectors has been Nike Dunks. Anyone sporting a pair of Nike Dunk, notably the Dunk lows, has undoubtedly been spotted on campus in the past year. Regarding fresh hues for the Dunks, Nike never seems to run out of ideas. A Dunk collaboration with Union, a “Paisley” pack of vintage hues, and a collaboration with Dover Street Market have all been released by Nike thus far in 2022. In the upcoming months of this year, we predict that the Nike Dunk Low will experience increased demand.

Bow details

The larger, the better when it comes to bows for spring/summer 2023. The trend was popularized by designers Susan Fang, Richard Quinn, BMUET (TE), Erdem, and Klamby, who led the way with oversized, statement pieces on the runways of London Fashion Week.

Due to their femininity and inherently romantic nature, bows, like florals, are a consistent trend during the summer months and are therefore perfect for special event clothing. Scaled-up neck bows, delicate decoration styles, and abstract shapes that were changed into shoulder strap accents for a daring yet elegant finish were all interpreted in silks, tulles, and cotton.
